Verdura Golf & Spa Resort is the latest addition to the Rocco Forte collection, and is set to become Sicily’s most prestigious and luxurious resort.  The ultimate place to relax and unwind, the resort offers exclusivity, privacy, and exudes an air of elegance & refined simplicity. The Olga Polizzi interiors, are a blend of modern and traditional, with warm, earthy tones, designed to reflect the natural landscape.   The 203 guestrooms and suites are spacious and offer the utmost in comfort and modern facilities.  Decorated in contemporary style with polished concrete floors and colourful local artefacts, all have sea view with private terrace or balcony. Some suites have a kitchenette.

 

The Resort offers two 18-hole championship golf courses, plus a 9-hole course and driving range, designed by golf course architect Kyle Phillips, who also designed the acclaimed courses of ‘Kingsbarns’ near St. Andrews, and ‘The Grove’ in Hertfordshire. A team of PGA-qualified professionals are available for group or one-to-one tuition, with tailor-made programmes to suit all ages and abilities. A full range of golfing equipment can be hired at the Clubhouse and electric golf carts are also available for hire. Built around a small piazza, the Clubhouse includes changing rooms with showers and lockers, lounge, pro-shop, boutiques, café bar, and a restaurant.

Other sporting facilities include a stunning 70-metre two-tiered swimming pool overlooking the sea, a tennis centre with 6 floodlit courts, yoga classes, various water-sports and bike hire.  Off centre activities include horse riding, land and sea excursions, scuba diving and fishing.


For children aged 3-12 years there is the complimentary Kid’s Club (lunch, special events and baby sitting payable locally) complete with pool, open 7 days a week from 10am to 10pm on a full or half day option.  Teenagers also have their own dedicated programme.

The Resort offers three restaurants, including a traditional, formal restaurant located in the restored Torre Verdura fort.  ‘Buon Giorno’ is a casual restaurant, serving an ample buffet breakfast, after which it opens exclusively for children’s meals. ‘La Zagara’, overlooking the sea & gardens, offers an a la carte menu for dinner, featuring the best of Mediterranean cuisine with Sicilian influences.  ‘Liola’ is the ideal place for a casual meal with its stunning sea view terrace. The Resort also offers in-room dining with a 24-hour menu.

Set apart from the rest of the resort, the 4000m² Verdura Spa complex offers the ultimate in rest and relaxation and is reputed to be one of the most sophisticated in Europe. The spa comprises 11 treatment rooms, together with an outdoor treatment terrace, a 70m² relaxation area, a spacious, fully equipped gym, 25m² covered swimming pool, decked terrace with sun-loungers and four thalassotherapy pools.  A separate beauty area offers hairdressing, pedicures and manicures.  Personal programmes can be tailored to suit individual requirements including diet and exercise.
